Arnold Schwarzenegger’s come back film – The Last Stand – premiered this week in London and his rather gorgeous co-star Jaimie Alexander brought all the glamour to the red carpet. The sultry 28 year old actress rocked a white mini dress covered in gemstones. A perfect combination of glowing porcelain skin and a dark, funky up do hair style, completed the show-stopping look. Channeling a certain Miss Kristen Stewart we think, and it worked wonders. Hair do of the day goes to Jaimie Alexander.
Presenting the Fashion Afro Wig – beautifully light weight and easy to style as required, for a unique look, the new addition to our celebrity wigs collection is made from our deluxe Japanese kanekalon fibre. Sewn into a luxury cap with a fully adjustable strap, this wig is ideal for the fashionable Carwash inspired events, fashion shows/shoots or as a Nicki Minaj tribute.
Today’s featured celebrity hair style is Nicole Scherzinger‘s new rock n roll inspired look, ahead of her latest shoot. The ex-PussyCat Doll tweeted this picture of her new do yesterday, in stark contrast to her glossy and sleek styles she has been sporting all year on the X Factor. The overall reaction is a big thumbs up!
Last week, the TV and Film Hollywood elite gathered together for the first big awards ceremony of 2013 to pat each other on the back. Gowns, minis, stilettos and suits swamped the red carpet for the serious sport of pouting and posing before the first Golden Globe was handed out. We take a look at the hair trends of the glamorous event…
Up-Do’s Vs Down-Do’s
Long, flowing locks seemed to be the most popular among the ladies, with the side pinned, curled look proving most common with a host of beaming beauties. Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Alba sported the ever popular ombre trend with a sun kissed twist.
Blonde bombshells were a plenty with ‘Homeland’ winner Claire Danes and ‘Les Miserables’ star Amanda Seyfried the best of the bunch.
Sharing the award for most glamorous up-do…. Nominee Amy Adams, super sexy Katharine McPhee and best actress winner Jennifer Lawrence. These ladies nailed the celebrity hair trend with an A* for make up too.
We are not really sure why Megan Fox (global sex bomb) and Isla Fisher (ex-Home & Away actress/serial shopper/other half of Borat) were at the awards ceremony but they both looked quite beautiful and looked distinctly similar…..
The barely-there make up trend was rampant (basically celebs wearing loads of make up to look like they are wearing hardly any at all) with both ‘The Girl’ star Sienna Miller and ‘The Newsroom’s’ Olivia Munn opting for, dare we say, boring and bland hairstyles to complement the au naturale statement.
Two beauties stood out with pretty unique styles. ‘Zero Dark Thirty’s’ Jessica Chastain channelled old Hollywood glam with a delightfully coiffed do and Fashion Police favourite Kelly Osbourne rocked her lavender purple locks with class.
Who Got It Wrong?
The usually perfect Kate Hudson chose a stunning full length gown with intricate bejewelled collar – then went and ruined it by sporting a messy down do. This collar deserved some of the spot light and a sophisticated up do (a la Amy Adams) would have looked much better. Another fashion fail (in our opinion – as this one got mixed reviews) was Mr Seacrest’s better half – Julianne Hough. Fairytale style dress – jaw droppingly gorgeous – paired with a rock chick hair style…..errrr – we no likey. This may have worked at the Grammys but the Globes require a more refined choice.

Lady Gaga continues to be the talking point of many a tabloid. This week she has been criticised for gaining weight, labelled a ‘Slut’ by a New York City politician, pictured smoking what looks to be a marijuana cigarette, photographed in a very bizarre (even for her) oversized costume and sited as being pregnant!
The usual online debates have been going into overload, with the usual discussions about role model status, pregnancy rumours, free speech blah blah erupting, with some supporting the singer and others outraged at the superstar’s ‘behaviour’.
Well – we still love her and by the looks of things, she is the character of choice for many a Halloween costume for 2012. With so many Gaga looks to replicate when it comes to outfits, hair and make up, the sky is the limit, and we can’t wait to see all the different versions of mini Lady Gaga’s this October.
Our speciality Lady Gaga Wigs collection has been created especially for all you fans looking to dress up as the role model/feminist/singer/actress/badgirl/antagonist. Visit the website to see the entire selection – with FREE shipping on all UK orders! Later, Little Monsters….!
The deluxe Dorothy Gale Wig from our costume wigs range, features centre parting and plaited bunches into beautiful ringlets with ribbon – just like the style sported by Judy Garland in the classic Wizard Of Oz film! The Japanese kanekalon fibre ensures that the hair feels like human hair and makes an authentic addition to a sexy Dorothy costume.
A big trend prediction for Halloween 2012 is a rather sinister version of the iconic character. The Horror Zombie Dorothy costume is set to take over the nation at a host of October parties and events and also requires a wig to complement the outfit. Complete the look with a toto basket and a full face of gory zombie wounds and flesh effects.

The busiest time of the year for all wig and costume suppliers is bearing down on us, with new collections now available for an exciting Halloween. Costume wigs are vital ingredients for an authentic Halloween outfit and here we present the top 10 picks for the scary season;
10. The Jessie J / Mia Wallace Wig
An iconic character from the classic Pulp Fiction movie, and a popular choice for Halloween, is the chain smoking, hip swinging, drug taking Mia Wallace played by Uma Thurman. An easy costume to replicate – think fake cigarettes, white shirt, cropped black trousers and a bloody nose – with the all important blunt, black, bobbed wig. An instantly recognised look and a great alternative to the more traditional costumes.
9. The Brown Granny Wig
A versatile wig for a range of characters. Ideal for the dictator-like Professor Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter films and a perfect accessory to any Susan Boyle costume. Popular with both men and women and easily styled to create a unique ghost or zombie hair style. Add some blood, dried leaves and use your hands to make the curls more untidy and – voila!
8. The Marie Antoinette Wig
Marie Antoinette is an eternally popular character to dress as for Halloween, particularly with the ladies searching for a feminine look and wishing to avoid the traditional blood and gore. The design of this deluxe wig ensures an adaptable look, perfect for ghosts and the ‘undead’. The classic ringlets and ultra white colouring combines to make a predictably popular choice for the upcoming season.
7. The Jessica Rabbit Wig
Probably our best selling wig this year, with scores of creative customers looking to replicate the style of the sexiest cartoon character in history. With it’s luscious layers and seductive side sweep, we predict the popularity of our authentic looking Jessica Rabbit wig to climax in October.
6. The Lady Gaga Black Super Wig
We will undoubtedly see a host of Lady Gaga inspired creations at Halloween parties and events this year. With an incredible selection of styles sported by the star, the choice is endless. For the more traditional costumes, a long black wig is often the finishing touch. Witches, vampires, ghouls, femme fatales and an array of film villain favourites are known for their long, dark locks and this super deluxe, extra long black costume wig is the most versatile of the bunch.
5. The Black Burlesque Wig
With a huge surge in demand for burlesque outfits for the Halloween celebrations this year, we predict the Black Burlesque Wig to literally dance off the shelves. The industry has created some alternative ‘darker’ burlesque creations, especially for Halloween 2012 as well as the classic corset/bustle skirt designs that are sure to be popular this year – our deluxe rolled wig is ideal for either look.
4. The Cruella Deville Wig
Disney‘s most popular villain is a relatively easy look to replicate and hugely popular throughout the Halloween season. Think faux fur, monochrome print, long cigarette holders and the famous black and white two-tone wig. An instantly recognised style, perfect for customers wishing to embrace the ‘evil’ aspect of the festivities, mixed with the glamorous, bold and bright style of Cruella Deville.
3. The Edward Cullen Wig
Everyone’s favourite vampire, and supposedly the best looking being on the planet, the Twilight Saga’s Edward Cullen character is known for his changing eye colour and unique hair style. With the final instalment of the film series reaching our shores in November, we predict that the Twihards will be out in force this year, paying tribute to their heroes. Groups of Volturi inspired nasties and Edward & Bella couples will take over the nation this October, with contact lenses and quiffed wigs at the ready.
2. The Bellatrix Lestrange Wig
The most evil of witches with a passion for murdering muggles is a firm favourite with Harry Potter fans, looking for a sinister character to embrace during the Halloween season. Long dark clothing and the all important wand paired with her signature matted hair will create the instantly recognised outline. The deluxe Bellatrix Lestrange wig is already selling fast.
1. The Blood Streaked Zombie Wig
Responding to overwhelming customer demand for a gruesome wig to complement the huge selection of zombie costumes from the Womens Halloween Fancy Dress collection, our deluxe Blood Streaked wig has just been released for the Halloween season. The fashionable long, blonde, curly wig features blood red streaks directly from the scalp, giving the appearance of a serious head wound. Ideal for zombie cheerleaders, school girls, prom queens and nurses – the biggest costumes of the year.
